Driving a car or a motorcycle (especially a motorcycle) in Thailand can be dangerous. There are basically no rules except following the line of traffic that is apparently going in your direction. Our management has survived many years by simply employing defensive driving techniques. Expect traffic (especially motorcycles) coming on your part of the road from the opposite direction. Pay attention to taxis as they stop suddenly or change the direction without giving any signal. The bigger the vehicle the greater the right of way.
